Opportunities

Hope Middle School Concerts:

Students will have the opportunity at least once a semester to perform at school in an evening concert featuring the music that has been learned that semester. All chorus students are required to attend.

Pitt County Schools All-County Chorus:

(Pitt County’s top honor for middle school singers.)

Selected students will learn music outside of class and in extra rehearsals with Mr. Flowers. The music will be performed with other Pitt County middle schools in a performance. Parents are expected to attend the concert and provide transportation home.

North Carolina Middle School Honors Chorus:

Selected students will learn a special piece of music and travel to audition in front of a judge in October. The judge selects the top singers throughout the state and those singers will be notified through Mr. Flowers if they are accepted. If accepted, students will learn music for a concert to be presented in Winston-Salem, NC, for the NC Music Educators Association.

North Carolina MiddleFest:

(An honor chorus for NC’s top middle school singers.)

Hope Middle School’s most talented and committed singers are selected by Mr. Flowers to learn special music and attend a two day chorus event held in Greensboro, NC. Students will perform with a world renowned guest conductor.
