Paul Flowers, director

Mr. Flowers is the choral music teacher at Hope Middle School in Greenville. He was selected the Hope Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2007-2008. In 2015 Mr. Flowers was selected the Richard E. Keasler Middle School Choral Teacher of the Year by the North Carolina Music Educators Association. Currently Mr. Flowers is in his 20th season as director of the Greenville Choral Society Children's Chorus and is founding director of the GCS Bella Voce Singers. He is frequently an invited clinician, conductor and adjudicator for various choral clinics, honor choirs, workshops and festivals throughout North Carolina. Recent honors include being guest clinician for the Wingate University Middle School Honors Chorus and guest conductor of the South Carolina All-State Chorus.


Mr. Flowers has taught pre-kindergarten through high school and has served as music director in churches directing fully graded music programs. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from East Carolina University. While at ECU he was the assistant conductor of the University Chorale and prepared groups for several major choral/orchestral works. He served as President of the ECU chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. He has continued his studies by attending workshops and clinics including the Juilliard School’s Complete Choral Musician in New York City.


Mr. Flowers is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, National Association for Music Education, and North Carolina Music Educators Association. He Serves the NCMEA Middle School Choral Board and is the NCMEA Middle School Choral Teacher of the Year Coordinator for NC. He also serves as the Repertoire and Standards Chair for Youth and Children's Choirs in the NC ACDA Chapter. Mr. Flowers’ choirs consistently receive Superior ratings at choral festivals. His students have been selected for numerous NC All-State and Honor Choirs and participated in prestigious music camps. His choirs have been invited and participated in concerts at Carnegie Hall, NYC.

Fran Wilson, accompanist

Fran Wilson is a Greenville, NC native who graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in education. While attending ECU, she studied piano with Dr. Elizabeth Drake, and accompanied the ECU Women's Chorus. She has accompanied many public school choruses and musicals. Fran was the accompanist for Adoration; who performed at the White House and Carnegie Hall. She and her husband, John, have two children and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. Fran is the pianist at The Memorial Baptist Church in Greenville.
